How Technext Built a Scalable Coding Platform for Kids Aged 7 to 17

Overview:

Our client is an ed-tech startup from Berlin, which aims to teach kids programming. Their vision is to offer kids a place where they can develop programming skills through fun and engaging activity. Their intent is not just a typical coding platform but a unique one, where kids can learn how to solve a problem and how to think logically toward the solution. 

To bring this vision to light through technology education, they needed an online platform. So, they sought Technext out as a reliable tech partner.

Design and Development:

In this collaboration, Technext was tasked with creating an intuitive and engaging UI where children at the ages of 7 to 17 can feel at ease. Simultaneously, turning this UI into a robust and scalable platform with full-stack development that can nurture children as skilled problem solvers.

The design process started with defining the design objectives and refining the functionalities for intuitive workflow. As it was not any typical ed-tech platform, we had to cover all the features while balancing the user experience that supports children.

• Age-Appropriate Design: This design adopted simplicity for the young and a bit advance for the old ones.
• Engaging Visuals: Captivating visuals and interactive features balanced entertainment and education in a single frame.
• Intuitive Navigation: Clear and easily understandable pathways and menus designed based on the audience of different age levels.

In the development phase, the Technext team leveraged modern technologies for building a robust and scalable foundation. As our client was a non-tech founder, it was challenging to craft an actionable SRS from their informal requirements.
